We store, not only player data (inventory, nicknames, etc), but also some extra data such as, but is not limited to, your previous usernames, nicknames, skins, chat messages and commands. We keep this data primarly for moderation reasons, such as if a player changed username, we can find them, or if a player sends a bad chat message or had a bad skin, we can verify, they joined with that skin, and take appropriate action.
If you find a staff member abusing these files, such as, giving a users skin files in a public area, or
showing /msg messages of two players to a unauthorized player, please report to a admin or higher, if a
admin is commiting the offense, please report to the next highest role. We will take action as soon as possible,
assuming there is sufficiant proof, we may give a warning, removing staff or banning all together, depending on the sevarity.
With that said, however, a screenshot of, say a random message of someone saying "hi", will likely have no action taken against them.
If the message is not personal, we likely will not proceed further, but it will depend on the severity of the action.
If you find your data being sent to a public area, you can, as per your right, request them to not share your data publically.
Staff members still reserve the right, to non-publically, which can be, but is not limited to, sharing with other staff members, in dms in specific cases and
other areas that the common user can not access, use this data, even after requested not to, if it pertains to a possible issue,
such as determining a ban from a message, or warning other staff to watch a specific player, as some examples.
With storing this data, we take these offenses very seriously, and this can lead up to legal action if it is deemed necessary to do so. But with keeping this data, the core reason we do it helps us moderate the server, even if we missed the entire scene. While we try our best to keep watch on the server, it can be hard to watch an entire server, we also relay on a player using '/report {username} {reason}', this will record the last 5-20 minutes of gameplay and the next 1-10 minutes, and alert us to the problem. At the next time we get a chance, we can watch this recording, to see if they were breaking any rules or not. If possible, define why in the reasoning, along with the specific message if you can (including typos), we can search for those specific words rather than watching 20 minutes of normal gameplay waiting for someone to say something. We also recommend report imeadently after they did the action, this makes it super easy to watch the replay at the exact time there was a problem. Please do not abuse this, however, as it may time a lot of time to watch a replay, especially if we do not know what we are looking for from them, for this reason, obvious abuse may be punished, with that said, we prefer safer than sorry, just do not spam the report (especially for the same reason) and do not report someone for the fun of it. While it is not added yet, we will soon have a reward system.
